An AlphaGraphics KC Case Study - Direct Mail
Recently a client called us needing help with a unique mailing. They wanted to deliver 330, 11" x 17" posters to guests
attending an upcoming industry event. The client didn't want the posters to be folded for mailing so they were hoping that to use mailing tubes without incurring huge postage costs. Working with
AlphaGraphics owner,
Haley Haar, the team was able to develop a direct mail strategy that shipped the tubes to the attendees for less than $9/a piece (which included the $4 postage). The
AlphaGraphics KC team also delivered the mailing to the post office in less than a week!
Project Specifications:
- Personalized letter using variable data technology, inviting guests to attend the private event
- 11" x 17" poster printed on 100# gloss text
- Poster and letter rolled and inserted into a 12" mailing tube
- Mailing label printed and adhered to the outside of the tube
- First Class postage via the United States Postal Service
While at first glance this project may not seem complicated, mailing "bulky" items can often be difficult with the postal service. Parcel mailings require special barcodes, postage, and documentation in order to clear USPS processing and deliver to your final destination. While an individual would likely need to stand at the counter with a postal employee for hours to address all 330 tubes,
AlphaGraphics KC was able to process the mailing with help of our technology and direct mail software in minutes. Additionally, we were able to save the client over $1,000 by mailing with the post office versus a shipping vendor like UPS or FedEx.
Next time you want your message to stand out from the crowd, consider a unique direct mail piece to entice your customer to engage. Colored envelopes, tubes, and boxes are all great options.
