Marketing Plan

Marketing planNow that you have the data from your marketing research, you can use it to begin the development of a viable marketing plan. You’ll first need to determine your objective. Once you figure that out, you’ll need to build a strategy and then select the appropriate tactics. Finally, you’ll need to establish an initial marketing budget. Keep in mind that you might need to make some on-the-fly adjustments as you move forward. Your budget could increase, or your objectives could change as you start to enact your marketing plan. By staying flexible and agile, you’ll be better able to adjust to any changes quickly and efficiently.

Executing Your Plan

Now that you have a marketing plan in place that’s backed up by hard data, it’s time to put it into motion. While it may seem simple, this is one of the most challenging aspects of marketing.  You might need to re-evaluate your original marketing plan and come up with more granular strategies and tactics. A marketing plan is just a general guide, and the ability to quickly adapt to situations as they arise is the key to successful implementation. As you move forward, it’s essential to regularly review both your progress and how closely you’re adhering to the marketing plan. Weekly retrospectives can help identify trends and spot potential issues before they derail your progress.

Measure Your Results

If you experience a bump in sales, it can sometimes be challenging to directly correlate it to your marketing campaign. However, it’s still important to measure your results as best you can so you won’t be wasting your time on methods that aren’t producing results. While looking at internal sales data can indicate success, there are other metrics that you can analyze, such as website and email data, leads generated, and performance on social media.  When you start to look at the bigger picture, it will become apparent what is and what isn’t working. This will allow you to re-evaluate and change some aspects of your marketing plan as you move forward.
