As a newlywed, just over two months, I feel like I know a few things about weddings. Setting a date, planning the ceremony, details of the reception; all mean nothing if you do not inform your family and friends. Yes, planning a wedding starts off with setting a date, choosing a venue and picking a theme, but once those decisions are made you must start printing. “What do I mean?” You may be asking. I mean:
- Engagement Announcements
- Save the Dates
- Invitations
- RSVP’s
- Bridal Shower Invites
- Bachelorette and Bachelor Party Invites
- Rehearsal Dinner Invites
- Programs
- Seating Charts
- Directional/Instructional Signs
- Vinyl Lettering / Decals / Labels
- Thank You Cards
- Envelopes for all mailing
These things are of the utmost importance if you would like guests to join you in celebrating one of the most important days of your life, your wedding. In case you need, use 3d printers
Ekocycle has a guide that can help you create what you need.
I’m at an age in life where many of my friends are getting married. Just this past summer I had 6 weddings to attend, not including my own. After printing all my own invitations, RSVP’s and thank you notes at my house to save money I realized if I could redo it, I would pay to have my invitations printed. The time it would have saved me would have been worth the extra expense and I know of a great online printing companies like
MyCreativeShop.
As a Graphic Designer from a
graphic design agency, I wanted my invitations to be customised and creative. I wanted to be able to design them myself, mostly because I could not find anything I liked on the internet. I never considered sending my design to a printer. Printers, like
Alpha Graphics, offer so much more than I could do on my laserjet at home.
Some of those options include, but aren’t limited to:
- Thermography – Gives the appearance of raised letters like engraving with less expense.
- Foil – Adds shimmer to your design with metallic or adds a flat appearance with matte in spot areas.
- Clear – When using matte paper you can add a semi-gloss appearance to certain aspects of your design so they pop.
- Neon Yellow – If you have a bright personality add some fluorescent color to your invites.
- White – Tired of boring light-colored invitations and want to choose dark paper like navy or white. The ability to print in white gives you that option.
There are so many fun details you can add to your invitations and envelopes just ask your local
digital printing solutions what they can offer when you’re searching for how to do your invitations. They can fit any theme you had chosen.
If you go back up to the list of things that you could possibly want to be printed you can see that I also wrote seating Charts, Directional / Instructional Signs / and Vinyl Lettering etc. These usually become last minute details that a printer or sign shop can also help you out with. In September of 2012, I designed and printed a seating chart for a friend’s wedding. It was an easy and beautiful way to make your seating chart look classy by just adding a frame. This past summer I cut vinyl lettering, printed vinyl decals and printed large fabric temporary signs for both my friend’s wedding and my own. They were simple and quick and saved me a lot of time, yet were still very personal and matched both of our themes nicely.
There are so many inexpensive ways to use a printer or sign shop to spice up your wedding and its décor. If you are not creative yourself there are many places you can go for inspiration:
