The Client
This month I wanted to focus on my favorite project I worked on this past year with one of AlphaGraphics longest running clients,
Paulette Wolf Events and Entertainment (PWE). Established in 1978, Paulette Wolf Events is a Chicago-based wedding planning and event management company that has produced best in class events all around the world. For over 40 years, Paulette Wolf Events has created exclusive, memorable and dynamic special events all over the world for high-profile clients in sports, fashion, lifestyle, film and entertainment. With strong ties to the entertainment community, they have worked with some of the world’s top personalities and performers such as Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, Sting, Michael Jordan, Fleetwood Mac, Elizabeth Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, Jerry Seinfeld, Valentino, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner and Barack Obama.
Although I have worked on a number of projects with the guys from PWE including the
Cubs Park at Wrigley Event, we did a project together this year that was fun to complete as well as looked incredible upon completion.
The Project
This particular project was for their client
Camp Kesem who we did a number of prints for earlier in the year. Basically the client was looking for a large stage backdrop to use at a large gathering event the cleverly called Kesempalooza. After brainstorming with the guys at PWE we decided the most suitable project for this would be to do one of our large Hop Up banners that are often used for red carpet events. Please check out our

Once we agreed that this was the best avenue for the project, we had to come up with artwork for the print. This started with PWE sending me a photo that they wanted to enlarge, size and crop to the size required. As this backdrop is 8ft Tall x 20ft Wide this caused some issues. The photo they wanted to use was too small and not a high enough resolution to enlarge to this size. Therefore we had to come up with some other options. After speaking with my graphic designer he was able to find some comparable images through
istock photo. We mocked up 5 different options for the client and although they loved all of them we decided on the “Laser light” option.
From here all we had to do was finalize the design with the Kesempalooza logo and schedule for print. After a quick 3 day turn time we delivered the backdrop and I can honestly say I have never seen such a positive reaction from my client and colleagues as well as PWE’s client. All in all a very successful and enjoyable project to work on.
Hop Up Banners Options
The Hop Up banners we print at
AlphaGraphics come in a number of sizes, up to 30ft wide and can be curved or straight. They are all tension fabric displays and are simple, versatile and easy to set up display. All the Hop-Up banners like this we produce are lightweight and collapsible, have a durable aluminum frame and pre-applied Velcro fabric graphics with or without endcaps. Clients can simply expand the frame to become a perfect full height display with no tools required for assembly. They also come with a convenient wheeled carry bag for storage and transport.
