Starting Your Invitation Printing Project

Custom of Standard Invitation Sizes
Invitation sizes can vary, but if a couple is trying to save money I offer my recommendation on keeping pieces standard. This helps avoid the use of ordering any custom envelopes. For example, reply cards are commonly a 4-Bar size (3x5). However, it’s often difficult to print on those so I suggest an A2 size (4x5.5). We most commonly see invites at 6x4 or 5x7. The smaller size is the most economical in terms of price while the 5x7 fits perfectly into A7 envelope. One of the things that defines us as a company is our customer service. We can also offer hard copy proofs for most prints meaning you can see your invites before running a large order.
Custom Papers and Stocks
Most formal invitations don’t have much of a design element; they are mostly line copy so it’s easy for us to print on a textured stock without worrying about inconsistencies in the print. The more coverage you have on your invites, the more likely you are to experience blotchy spots on the print. We carry several lines for invitations such as Linen, Bristol, Felt and many more. We can also merge names with files so that each person’s name, number address etc… is individually printed to each piece. This is especially useful for wedding packages, from individualized envelopes to placement cards for the actual wedding.
Just because you’re doing this project yourself, doesn’t mean it has to look entirely homemade! Our cutting edge digital printers will even print a return address and individual mailing address on your outer envelopes. Our envelope selection can be limited though, but I have had many couples go to paper source and purchase envelopes that they like and we will print on them for you. Selecting a color envelope can add a nice touch to the package. Beware of dark colors though as you can’t print white ink digitally. We have many options for specialty printing as well. As long as your budget allows we can incorporate anything from spot UV to foil stamping. Emboss and debossing is also a great touch to invites although is not a cheap process. As you will see in the pictures these are a few invites I have done recently showing some of the special “touches” we can add to invites through the use of a process such as foil stamping.
