As a veteran marketer and business owner,
Josh Field has worked with legacy brands and built a media company that hit the Top 100 on the
Inc. 5000 "Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S." list. In fact, ever since he graduated with an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 1986, he’s been in the middle of the tech-driven transformation of the marketing industry.
After stints with American iconic brands including Coca-Cola, Ralston Purina and Mary Kay Cosmetics, Josh launched SCB Marketing in 2006, leveraging the emerging digital media landscape to help a broad range of clients on Florida’s “Space Coast” grow their businesses, while building his own company's lifestyle and business publications into valuable community resources. Meanwhile, his wife
Jamie created a highly successful event planning business that she began in St. Louis before expanding into the Dallas and Central Florida markets.
As longtime business owners and entrepreneurs, the Fields were ready for the next opportunity.

“With our sons graduated from medical school and establishing their careers, we were looking for the next challenge,” says Josh. “We wanted to stay in Florida to be close to family, and we explored business opportunities across the state, from startups to established franchises and independently owned companies.”
AlphaGraphics: The Right Fit
The Fields found what they were looking for in an existing AlphaGraphics location in
Lake Mary, Florida, not far from their home in Melbourne. Once they met the leadership team and learned more about the organization, its market position and its vision for the future, they knew it was the right fit.
“I’m a tough critic of leadership and business development plans, and I was impressed. It is clear that the executive team is working well together in developing and executing long-term growth plans that benefit the Network of franchisees,” says Josh. “We feel that AlphaGraphics has successfully repositioned itself as more than just a printing company. Its consultative approach to selling and customer service is aligned with our experience and consistent with how we like to do business.”
The Fields recognized that AlphaGraphics is providing its franchise owners with cutting-edge technology solutions, marketing programs and internal support and training unlike any other organization they evaluated. Now they will have a chance to work together to build their next winning team, without having to start from the ground up.
“
AlphaGraphics Lake Mary was already an established, profitable and well-run business when we acquired it. What it lacked was the marketing and business development emphasis necessary to take it to the next level,” Josh says.
“We believe the business has the current capacity to double in revenue and profit over the next five years.
“We’ve both started businesses from scratch and know how difficult that can be,” adds Jamie. “Here, we were able to start with a well-managed small business, an engaged staff, a corporate support team and a roadmap.”
Josh explains that
“while the tactical options have expanded with technology, the fundamental objective of marketing – bringing buyers and sellers together to create value – has remained constant since I started my marketing career over three decades ago. Organizations that embrace this new era of communication while providing exceptional customer service will thrive, particularly as the next generation trends toward more entrepreneurial career paths and away from traditional, large and impersonal corporations.
“Owning your own business and being your own boss is still the American Dream, and AlphaGraphics is well positioned to partner with the current and next wave of entrepreneurs and business owners in providing the marketing products and services necessary to be successful."
Jamie and Josh lived in Heathrow in 1989-1990 before a new job opportunity moved their young family to St. Louis, Dallas, Kansas City and (in 2004) Melbourne. They recently moved back to the Lake Mary/Heathrow area and are excited to get involved with the community and be closer to family.
