As everyone is quarantined in their homes, it’s important for restaurants to think outside of the box to communicate with their customers. Post on Social Media Regularly

Where is everyone spending most of their time? Besides, Netflix and Hulu, everyone is on social media! Restaurants need to be posting regularly on social media to communicate with their customers. Some ideas for your next posts includes ways to order takeout and special discounts.  Likewise, include delivery options such as curbside pickup, free delivery, GrubHub, Postmates, DoorDash.  Also consider, hours of operation, and shout outs to your amazing staff on your next posts.  In addition, be strategic about the times you post. For lunch, start posting around 10:30AM or 11:00AM to get people thinking about what they are planning for lunch.  

Show a Banner at your Storefront

San Diego Magazine created a 'Restaurant To Go Form,.'   This allows restaurants to submit information regarding takeout and delivery services, gift cards, or merchandise. Mainstreet Oceanside created  'A guide to pickup and delivery services from our local restaurants' on their website. The list was compiled based on social media and phone calls as stated on the website. To have your Oceanside restaurant added to this list, email kristin@mainstreetoceanside.com. PACIFIC also has a list of restaurants that are offering curbside pickup or delivery. Contact Sara at sara@pacificsandiego.com to be added to the list. The Carlsbad Village Association created a list of restaurants in the Village that are open business.  In addition, the list provides businesses that offer curbside pickup. Restaurants can contact Chris at chris@carlsbad-village.com. KSON Radio is compiling a list of restaurants that are open for takeout. Most importantly, restaurants can add their info by commenting on a social media post on their Facebook.   Oceanside Chamber of Commerce is updating a list of our Oceanside restaurant members that are open and offering takeout services. In addition, the Chamber has also created a list of other Oceanside business members that are open and offering discounts.  After that, members can contact Hana Gilbert, at the Oceanside Chamber, to be added or promoted.   Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is actively sharing restaurants that are open for business.
