Happy Independence Day from all of us at AlphaGraphics Hoover! I am grateful for the freedoms we celebrate this time of year. It is our hope that you are enjoying some time off for fun and fellowship with family and friends.
This year, let's celebrate the freedom we have to love one another in our differences. I know that our forefathers fought for the freedom to live in a country where diversity is celebrated and where people from all walks of life come together to make great things happen. Sometimes it feels like the world is falling apart around us. I think that we can get stuck in our zone, begin to feel like the world we live in is the only world to live in, but I know that’s not true.
As I sit here and look around my office space, I think about how much we need each other to keep sailing. We are a small office of less than 15 and even amongst us, we each bring a unique spirit. We have our own interests, experiences, and opinions that we carry into every day and we can use these parts of ourselves to, either tear one another apart, or work together to find the common ground that we all need to feel like we belong.
Within our small space are folks working on their second career, young adults fresh out of college, a single mom with tweens, a married couple with adult children, and a dad of three ready to graduate high school. The opportunity to mentor is here, not just in our work but in our lives.
I grew up believing that people need each other, so this Independence Day, I encourage all of us to stay grateful for the beauty in the diversity of the world around us and to look for opportunities within your circle of influence to show appreciation for the variety that each person brings.
